Ajwaini Chakli

Rice Flour - 2 cup
Gram Flour - 1 cup
Heeng - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 60ml
Ajwain - 1tbsp
Red chilly powder - 1tsp
Black pepper crushed -2tsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 400ml


  • In a bowl mix both the flours. Add salt, red chilly, black pepper, heeng and ajwain. Pour oil and mix with a light hand. Now add water and make into a dough. Do not over knead the dough. Do not knead a stiff dough. Heat oil in a kadai till medium hot.
  • Now place the dough in the chakli press and in quick round motion and make chaklis on an oiled surface. Carefully pick the chakli and deep fry till crisp.
  • Once u have mastered the chakli you can also directly shape the chakli in the kadai.
