Lasaniya Batata

Ingredients

Potatoes (baby) - 400 gms
oil - for frying
Cumin seeds - 1tbsp
Garlic pods - 5nos
Besan - 75 gms
Turmeric powder -1 tsp
Red chilly powder- 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 2tsp
Salt - to taste
Yogurt -150gms
Fresh green coriander - 20gms
Kasoori methi powder - a pinch

Method

  • Peel the baby potatoes and gentle prick it with a fork. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry them on low heat till crisp and golden brown. Remove on an absorbent paper.
  • Heat 3 tbsp of oil and add cumin. Once it crackles add chopped garlic. Do not brown the garlic just let it sweat.
  • Now turn the heat low and add the besan. Keep stirring for 2 mins or till a fragrant smell comes. Immediately add turmeric, red chilly powder, salt and coriander powder. Saute well. Now add whisked yogurt and keep stirring till it comes to a boil.
  • Add the fried potatoes sprinkle methi powder and cook till the potatoes absorb the yogurt. Sprinkle with chopped coriander and serve hot.
