Moong Dal Namkeen

Prep: 4 Hours Cook: 10 Mins Yields: 1 Cup Servings


Moong dal (without skin & split) - 1 cup
Oil - for frying
Salt - to taste
Clean cloth for drying soaked dal


  • Wash and soak the dal for at least 4 hours. Drain all the water. Place the dal in a dry cloth and pat dry. Heat oil in a deep vessel and add the dal to deep fry on medium hot oil. Cook till dal starts to get a light colour. Strain and remove the dal. Allow it to cool a little. Sprinkle salt and serve.
