Spaghetti in Cheese Sauce

Creamy Cheese Pasta


Looking for an easy Indian version of Spaghetti in White Sauce? Well, here is my version of the recipe straight from my kitchen.

  • Medium




Butter – 2tbsp
Garlic Chopped – ½ tsp
Flour(maida) – 1½ tbsp
Milk(room temp) – 375ml/ 1½ cup
Salt – to taste

For Boiling Pasta

Water – 2lts

Salt – 1tbsp

Pasta(dried, spaghetti) – 80gms/Handful
Italian Seasoning – 1tsp
Cheese (grated) – ½ cup
Pepper Powder – a pinch
Basil sprig – for garnish



For Sauce

To any pasta prepare the sauce first and then cook the pasta and add to the sauce.
For the sauce melt butter in a pan and add in garlic. Lightly stir it and do not brown the garlic. Add flour and stir till lightly blonde in colour.
Add milk and bring it to a boil, season with salt and remove from heat.


For Pasta

Bring water to a boil and add salt to it. Add the dried pasta to the boiling water and give it a stir. Boil the pasta as per the instructions on the pack. Spaghetti usually takes about 8mins to boil al dente.
Remove from heat, strain the pasta and retain the water.
Bring back the sauce on heat and bring it to a boil, add the strained pasta to the sauce, some Italian seasoning, pepper powder and a laddle of the strained water. Cook for 2 mins, turn the heat off and add cheese, stir and plate the spaghetti using tongs and serve garnished with a fresh herb.
