Fresh turmeric has a beautiful earthy flavour, much different from the dried turmeric powder. Fresh turmeric can be sliced and tossed along with salads as well.

For Lemonade

Mix together all the ingredients and add them in a blender.
Blend them all together till ginger and fresh turmeric blends with the other ingredients.

Remove strain and serve. You may also use turmeric powder (½ tsp) instead of fresh turmeric.

Tips while buying ginger.

While picking ginger make sure it has a smooth shiny skin.
Try to break it by snapping it. If it snaps easily it is young and less fibrous which is good for cooking.
If too fibrous then the ginger is old and not fresh.
If the ginger is too soft or mushy then it is possibly rotting.
Also a quick smell test will let you know if the ginger is rotting or not.
Always store ginger in fridge and garlic out of a fridge. Refrigeration increases the shelf life of ginger.
If you have ginger that is shrivelling and old lying at home then best is to dry it out in the sun completely. Once dried grind it into powder which can be used to flavour cakes, tea, drinks and even curries.
