Steps

1
Done

For Sprouting Dal

For Wash the dal with water and soak it for at least 3 to 4 hours. After soaking drain the dal of all the water and place it on to a clean kitchen cloth. Tie it up the soaked moth dal in the cloth like a sack (Potli).
Dip this potli in water to make it wet completely. Now tie this sack around a tap or over a sink or any other place. Keep this cloth and the dal inside wet by pouring water over it every 4-5 hours.

Do this for 2 days and this will cause the dal to sprout. In case you are buying sprouted dal then simply use 3 cups of the sprouted dal for this recipe. Once the dal sprouts, you can take it out of the cloth and place it in a fridge till you want to use it for this recipe.

Done

For Boiling Dal

Add the sprouted dal to a pan, add water, some salt and turmeric. Bring it to a boil, simmer for a minute and then strain it. Keep aside for the time being.

In a bowl add raw mango powder, black salt, sugar, some salt, red chilli powder and roasted cumin powder. Add water and mix well to remove any lumps. In a fresh pan cook this mixture to a quick boil and then simmer the chutney for 3 to 4 minutes.

Cook till it is a light coating & flowing consistency. Remove form heat and cool the amchur chutney down and pour into a bowl.

For Tossing Salad

To assemble the dal, add the dal to a platter or a bowl, add some boiled & chopped potatoes, to that add cucumber, some chopped tomatoes, chopped green chillies, some fresh coriander, lots of pomegranate, some onions, salt, sprinkle black salt, a good amount of chaat masala, and then add the chutney on top with some lemon.

Mix it all well, check and adjust the seasoning and the daal moth chaat is ready to be plated. You can serve this salad warm or cold.

For Cucumber Boat

Select small cucumbers and with our peeling them cut them lengthwise into two. Using a small spoon scoop our the seeds from the center. This makes a cavity in the cucumber, now sprinkle the cucumbers with some salt to taste, chaat masala and a twist of lemon. Fill that with the dal moth chaat salad and serve.
